Our priorities for action

We know that Buckinghamshire is a great place to live - 86% of local people tell us so.  Yet there are many challenges to face to ensure that a future Buckinghamshire is not only prosperous, enterprising and environmentally sustainable but also somewhere where all Buckinghamshire communities can enjoy a high quality of life.

Our Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-2026 sets out a shared partnership vision, based on extensive consultation, for the county.  It is part of the family of Community Strategies at county and district level which clearly set out a joint, collaborative approach to community planning across the county. These are the over-arching long-term plans for the area, due for sign-off by early October 2009

Here you will find:

  • Our draft countywide Sustainable Community Strategies;
  • Draft Sustainable Community Strategies for  Aylesbury Vale, Chiltern, South Bucks and Wycombe.
  • Information on the Sustainability Appraisal which helped to shape the strategies.
  • Information about our Local Area Agreement, which is the short-term delivery mechanism for key aspects of the community strategies.
  • Over time, we will be adding further detailed information about the Sustainable Community Strategies including technical documents setting out the evidence base and information on the developing partnership approach to delivering the strategies.
